Payment Configuration

Events can be configured to accept online payments via Stripe. (Note: Your domain must have an SSL certificate and be accessible via HTTPS in order to receive online payments.) To connect to Stripe in LiveWhale, follow these steps:
  • Create an account at https://stripe.com. An account may need to be created per group as necessary.
  • Obtain the following keys by accessing My Account at the upper right corner of Stripe and then select API Keys : Live Secret Key, Live Publishable Key, Test Secret Key, Test Publishable Key


 
  • Next, From the LiveWhale interface go to the group that will accept event payments 
  • Enter the keys to your group by clicking Groups, then select your group and click Edit
  • Under the Payment section select Yes, through Stripe to allow the group to accept online payments
  • You can set the payment to Test or Live mode as needed for testing or production purposes.
  • When you are done, click Save group
  • When creating an event in this group you will have the option to select online payments. (see image below)

  • Finally, when a user registers for the event they will see additional form fields asking for credit card information.
