Inserting Large Data Objects (BLOBs) with LWQuery

Last Updated: Jun 25, 2014 01:54PM PDT

LWQuery offers a method of inserting large amounts of data into BLOB columns. For maximum compatibility with all MySQL servers, this method will feed the BLOB data into the database in 16k chunks, so as to avoid hitting the limitations on upstream data size.

The insertBlob() method performs an UPDATE on an existing record to populate a specified field with the data. It requires that you pass the name of the target table, the target field, a path to the local file containing the data to insert, and a string representing a where clause to target a specific row (for example, by id).

$_LW->dbo->insertBlob($table_name, $field_name, $file_path, $where);
