LiveWhale widgets can be embedded inside any web page or any content type field that supports HTML. You may either embed a widget that’s already saved, using a WYSIWYG button, or you may manually enter widget syntax.

Using a saved widget carries the additional benefit of being able to edit that saved widget at a future date, and having your change take effect on all instances of the widget automatically.

Using a Widget

There are 2 options to adding a widget to a page.

Option 1: Using a saved widget

  • After you add a new widget perform the following steps
  • Navigate to the page you wish to add a widget
  • Click "Edit Page" at the top of the page (assuming you have logged into LiveWhale)
  • Click on the "editable" section you wish to add the widget.
  • Click the gear icon in the WYSIWYG editor. (see image below)

  • A pop-up will appear listing the available widgets. You can search a widget or using the drop-down to filter by widget type.
  • Select your widget. You will be able to preview the widget results in the "Widget preview" window
  • Click "Insert this widget" to drop it into your page. Click "Save and publish" when you are finished.

Option 2: Using widget code

  • Navigate to the page you wish to add a widget
  • Click "Edit Source" at the top of the page (assuming you are logged into LiveWhale)
  • Add your widget code snippet to your page.  (See "Add a new widget" for help).
  • Click "Save and publish" when you are finished
